About Ermita del Alba from Caranga Baxu:
The climb up to Ermita del Alba is very beautiful and extremely steep. It stepped into the limelight of the global cycling world overnight when it was used to finish the queen stage of the Vuelta in 2015. There are many similarities between this climb and its ‘sister’ climb Angliru. Both used to be completely unknown goat tracks, but became famous due to the Vuelta. Both are extremely steep and beautiful and both have very few cars on them. All in all the perfect match for any cyclist looking for a big climbing challenge. The ride consists of an easy and a very difficult section. The first section serves as a warm-up for the second section. Despite begin almost flat, the first section is quite enjoyable with good views of lakes and mountains. Once the main road is left there is no looking back and the second section starts. With an average gradient of 11 percent and having several smaller segments with a gradient of 20 percent or more, this is serious business for any cyclist. Despite the steepness, one can enjoy great views on the way up. At the end of the ride, we take an alternative and more beautiful route up a dirt road to finish off the climb with spectacular scenery.

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride...
