But first, leading economists agree that among all of the stimulus items in the new $900 stimulus package, another round of PPP loans are one of the top priorities

Pantheon Macroeconomics chief economist Ian Shepherdson explained: “The biggest single component of the new relief bill is the re-funding of the Paycheck Protection Program, with a total of $284 billion

He continued: “The new funding for the PPP is enough to save 4.75 million jobs over a full year, other things equal. We don’t know yet how long the program will run.”
Shepherdson also added: “this is a big step forward, helping bridge the gap between the third wave-ravaged services economy and the post-pandemic world of the spring.”

I completely agree, as these PPP loans can go a long way towards helping to provide payroll and keep doors open as we head into the new year
Meanwhile, some financial experts believe that the $284 billion for a second round of PPP loans found in the new stimulus package could be unwillingly volatile to fraud

Steve Ellis, president of Taxpayers for Common Sense, explained: "I think it has more likelihood of going to the companies that need it most because the abuses of the first two rounds have been well publicized,"

But he also cautioned: "But it is a big pot of money, and there is no guarantee it won't be taken advantage of by individuals and companies that shouldn't get it."
In the new bill, second time borrowers will be able to claim at most $2 million, small businesses must have less than 300 employees, and companies must show a dip in revenue during this year

I just hope that the small businesses that are truly struggling can access these vital disaster relief funds to help make life a little easier as we head into 2021
Finally, the new $900 billion stimulus package brings new life back to the popular EIDL program, especially a bone that many of y’all out there picked with the SBA

According to legislation, which is liable to change, $40 billion will go towards the EIDL program, with $20 billion of that being disbursed through those $10,000 grants
Fortunately, it looks like EIDL claimants that could not receive their full $10,000 grant may be able to claim the entire amount with this new bill

To qualify for the full $10,000 EIDL grant, a business must: be located in a low-income community, have suffered an economic loss greater than 30%, and employ not more than 300 employees

This is amazing news to sole proprietors that could only claim 1 employee during the first round of EIDL’s, and hopefully they can receive their other $9,000 that they are owed
