Hey kids! Its your good buddy Uncle Ben here with another Weekend Wankshop guitar lesson. On episode 242, we are talking economy picking! Have you ever wanted to upgrade to first class? I know for a while, this technique completely evaded me, but after learning a few technical details about it and coming up with some useable patterns for my own playing, i finally started getting a grip on it.... and now, you will too!

In this video, we will take a quick look at the economy picking styles of Eric Johnson, Yngwie, and more (as outlined in Troy Grady's Cracking the Code series), learn this easy Paul Gilbert-style 12 note sequence, then take it through a cool A minor lick. We will also talk about how you can mess with this phrase rhythmically and repurpose it as triplets or 16th notes! All for the low-low price of $0.
