Advancing with Watercolor: Exaggerating for Effect “Morning Scavengers”

This video was done to support my class which meets in the Plein air along Cape Ann and the North Shore area. We meet at different parks and harbors throughout the summer painting watercolor outdoors. This week we are in Marblehead MA at Fort Sewell , looking out towards the Marblehead lighthouse and the morning light upon the ocean. In this video I will be talking about exaggerating some aspects of the painting to create a stronger feeling of the light, the importance of continuing to develop the idea back in the studio, first by developing a tonal study, and then developing a color painting.
A pdf supporting this video can be found here

In each video I will address some of the challenges with each motif and ways to meet those challenges. Along the way I hope you experience the same thrill of working under an open sky that we did.
