DIY Moose Hunt, Yukon River, Alaska

COLD TEMPS = SUCCESS! Two guys from Maine moose hunting the early part of the season in SW Alaska in the sloughs off the Yukon River. Before flying into the bush, we spent a day fishing on the Kenai River although the Reds (sockeye salmon) were past, it was fun catching a few and throwing them back. Warm temperatures prevailed but later in the hunt when the temperature dipped a little and at first light, we had four bulls responding to the cow call.
