Early Morning Fish Delivery - E7 Helps Himself Nibbles on Fish - April 20, 2023 - NCTC Bald Eagles

Dad delivers a nice size fish, nice feeding follows. Bella arrives and promptly claims the fish and takes over the feeding. Later E7 helps himself to the fish; self feeds and appears to get a few bites from the unzipped fish. Great family interaction to bump start your day!

About the Nest
The NCTC nest is 20 years old, situated in a sycamore tree, approximately 90 feet up. The nest is estimated to be 7 plus feet in diameter, and approximately 5 feet deep with an estimated weight of plus 1000 lbs. The eagle nest is located approximately 75 miles from Washington, D.C. on the campus of The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services' National Conservation Training Center. The campus is near Shepherdstown, West Virginia, approximately 1/4 mile from the Potomac River.

Bella and Smitty have been a pair since 2018 and together they have had 6 eaglets, E7 is their 7th eaglet together as a pair. Four eaglets successfully fledged.

Thanks to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) and partners Outdoor Channel and Friends of the NCTC for providing these amazing bald eagle cams. We appreciate the opportunity to watch and grow along side this incredible bald eagle family.
