F-14 Tomcat. Final US Navy Deployment Aboard The USS Theodore Roosevelt + Retirement News Reports.

Having entered service with the United States Navy (USN) in 1974, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat soon acquired a reputation as a formidable combat aircraft.

The type was retired from service 32 years later in 2006, having served in every major conflict the USA had been involved, from Vietnam to Iraq.

This video shows the final deployment for the F-14 aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, between September 2005 and March 2006 with VF-31 and VF-213.

There is a bonus section featuring two news items. The first shows the final deployed Tomcats returning to their home base of Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana. The second news report shows the final decommissioning of the Tomcat, again at its final home of Oceana.
