We went to Antigua, GT (AGAIN!) and tried to load new maps on our van (FAIL!)

In this video, we again revisited a previous destination. We went to Antigua, Guatemala which is the former capitol city of most of Central America. The history here is rich and deep. We had a wonderful time here 7 years ago, and today in 2023, it was still as enjoyable. We got to spend much more time in the city during this visit, as we didn't really have much of a schedule.

We ended up spending about a week in Antigua! We spent a lot of time wandering the city on foot and finding new things to do and see. The cobblestone streets are so cool and we love the ancient architecture. Above all, though, the people here are what make it truly special.

While we were hanging out, we took the opportunity to address the maps in our Sprinter van's MBUX navigation unit. Since exiting Mexico, we have had to rely on Google Maps through Android Auto. It works, but the Mercedes navigation integrates better into the system. So, we purchased maps of South America, which "include Central America".

Uploading the maps was a bit of a struggle, as there are no vehicle-specific instructions included. We were able to figure it out, though. Ultimately, we were massively disappointed to discover that "Central America" only means Panama and Costa Rica. For some reason, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Belize are all excluded from the navigation map data. If you need navigation in these countries, do not buy this map.
