Out of Ipswich - Van build - Finishing touches for our van shower
With our van's shower now mostly installed, Mandy came up with an idea to make it feel homier. The stainless steel panels weren't the right vibe for the entire shower, so we opted to install some tweed to match our walls on the forward faces of the van. We also covered the exposed plumbing for our shower head with the same tweed. It looks almost professional!
We chose to use a Moen Nebia shower head and we absolutely LOVE it! The shower head sits up against the ceiling of the shower and rains straight down which maximizes the usable height inside the shower. It also has a handheld wand. Both sprayers atomize the water and produce a great spray pattern that minimizes water consumption. The main shower head is height and angle adjustable, and it swivels side-to-side. Mandy also found time to widen our dog Loki's bed for him, so now it's more appropriately sized. We also packed up all our clothes to prepare to move in. This meant downsizing a lot and getting rid of things we don't need. It was hard, but also necessary and felt good afterwards. Living tiny in a tiny home isn't hard if you can just learn to let go of unnecessary things and embrace experiences instead.
We have everything we need but we got rid of a lot of things we realized we didn't need. We donated a lot of clothing and other things. Some things we sold. It was a lot of work but in the end we are actually much more content and happier. It sounds counterintuitive, but we like it! As always, if you like the video, let your friends know. If you don't like it, let us know!
