The Binding of Isaac speedrun World Record - 6:18

Second sub 7 ever
Fast because: early Compass, very solid floors with no real compass trolls (this is normally especially scary in the Chest, but it was instead quite smooth), no darknesses, no loading screen errors, and shovel'd Womb 1. There was nothing super special like going through XL floors super fast or shoveling them. No Bible kills.

Obvious imperfections include: there was a slow first floor; I had a sort of bad Mom fight; I went the wrong way in Womb II at first; I tried to bomb for secret room in the Chest that failed (but it might have made sense); I clearly got flustered in the first room in the Chest and missed a hit; I missed one bomb against Blue Baby; and I could have used my last bomb against Blue Baby (I believe I thought I ran out of them). In my defense, I was running low on health and I was a bit worried I would die.

If I had my roll up on the first devil deal, I could've gotten the shovel earlier, I think, but then I wouldn't have gotten the Compass. After doing many hours of these attempts, I strongly believe getting mapping without having to work for it is the key to WR times in 1-character Chest/Sheol runs since inner-compassing is so absurdly unlikely across the whole run. Since returning to these speedruns, this was the first one where I got an early Compass, and of course that one good attempt alone lended me a new record, but of course I also got decently lucky on a few other fronts to be able to get a run this fast.

I was messing around with Platinum God speedruns before returning to these runs. A sub 10 hour run is seemingly easily possible, so I am not sure why the record is roughly ~14.5 hours. I had a lot of trouble with getting Ultra Pride/The Left Hand, in particular, and there was some trouble with getting Gish/Steven/Chad, but I only did around three attempts taking around 30 hours in total. I might return to it just to get a finished run faster than the current world record.
