D2 Receptor-DISC1 Complex and Antipsychotic Effects

Our lab has identified a novel interaction between D2 receptor and DISC1, and this complex was found to be increased in postmortem brain tissues of schizophrenia patients. Using an interfering peptide that specifically blocks this complex formation, we found that schizophrenia-related behaviors were reduced in animal models of schizophrenia. For more information, see Su et al. in Neuron 84(6), http://www.cell.com/neuron/abstract/S0896-6273(14)01007-1.
