Rahul Gandhi's democracy remark is a hint at party's ideology? | The Newshour Debate

On The Newshour Debate, Navika Kumar today talks about the controversial remark made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi along with other Congress leaders marched towards the Rashtrapati Bhawan to hand over a memorandum to President Ramnath Kovind, which had the signatures of 2Cr farmers, as claimed by Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi earlier today calls India is 'no democracy'. He further added that democracy is in the imagination of the people. This after members of the Congress party were stopped from marching to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.  BJP has hit out at the Congress leader and stated that J&K has celebrated democracy just a day ago. Rahul Gandhi called democracy a figment of the imagination. 

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia states that out of the 55 years, Congress has ruled India for 38 years, and India has been under the Prime Ministership of Gandhi. If anyone has attacked democracy, decade after decade, it is Congres, says Anand Ranganathan.
