Parents Getting in the Way of your Relationship?

In this video I explain the devastating effect family, in-laws, or friends can have on an intimate relationship. Many times people who are afraid to say no to everyone around them, have a negative effect on their intimate relationship. This happens because they are trying to support two people at once. When you choose to support a relationship over your intimate relationship you have a negative effect on your intimate relationship. This is especially important for the category in my book called "Blind Support," and that is people who are people pleasers.

A remedy for this is to create primary and secondary relationships. When you have to choose who to support, your primary relationship will always take precedent. This requires not being afraid to say no to your parents, siblings, friends or anyone getting in the way of your intimate relationship.
