Meat Industry Is Worth Billions Of Dollars | Won't The Economy Collapse? | Veganism | Q & A

In case the world does go Vegan will be able to replace the wealth generated by these animal abusing industries? In case the world goes Vegan what will happen to the people who are employed by these industries? Will the people who work in menial jobs such as debeaking and slaughtering birds be able to find other means of employment?

Losing a job temporarily is not the same as remaining unemployed forever. When a particular sector is no longer profitable people will move over to another sector. As we move towards a Vegan world new job opportunities will open up due to the demand for Vegan options (can be as simple as grains, dals and fruits and not necessarily processed vegan food). This is a gradual shift in society and will not be an overnight change that would leave farmers stranded without money or food as many falsely believe. Also the farmers are not the victims in this situation, the animals are. If a farmer were to kill you to sell your organs and I stopped them, does that mean I have an agenda against farmers or that I just have basic respect for your life? The problem is that you feel animals are not deserving of that same respect and consideration just because they are animals but their exploiters are just because they are human. If saving your life meant the farmer had to actually go our of business means, you would still want me to save your life right? Don’t you think animals feel the same way? The murderer/exploiter can never be the victim when an act of violence occurs. If you lose a job, you can get a new one. If you lose money, you can earn again. A lost life will not come back. An animal's life is precious to it as much as our own is precious to us.
