Quick Bird Photography Tip. #photographytips #goldenhour #photographersfreedom

A quick bird photography tip about shooting when the sun in lower in the sky. If you take bird photos in the middle of the day when the sun is high in the sky, you will rarely get a catchlight in the birds' eyes. This is the little reflection of light that gives their eyes interest and makes them look more alive and interesting.

If you shoot when the sun is high, your photos also have washed-out colours and the shadows are harsh and unappealing. More reason to shoot when the sun is low either early in the morning (during the hour after sunrise) or just before and after sunset. This is called Golden Hour and you will hear photographers go on about it all day...because it produces much better photos.
