V-Carving for the Absolute Beginner – Part 1 – How It Works

This is the 1st in a mini-series of videos geared toward the person who has never worked with CAD or CAM software before.
In this video, I’ll introduce v-carving by explaining how it works, the difference between v-bits of different angles, and I’ll detail how the cutting depth is determined. I’ll calculate 2 toolpaths in the Vectric software, then compare and contrast the difference in the results. I may sound like I’m beating the drum on a few points, but those points are crucial to understanding how the process works.
