How Do You Feel About Being Told to Smile? 🤔

Imagine people tell you to cry. Sounds inappropriate, right? Why should telling you to smile be any different?

A smile should be an authentic expression that naturally arises from within you, not a demand based on someone else’s need.

While smiling has many benefits for our health and mood, forcing someone else to smile when it may not be fitting to do so is not honoring their needs.

For example, if they have recently experienced a break up or a loss and are currently processing those feelings. Or if they are experiencing a challenge and are reflecting and exploring the stress or frustration that arises with it. Or perhaps they are in a neutral peaceful mood or in a serious mood that serves them. Just because someone’s not smiling doesn’t mean something is wrong with them or they are not a positive person.

In this short 2 min clip I tell you exactly how I handle people who tell me to smile online or in person and why you should never feel pressured or bad if someone asks you to smile and you don’t feel like it unless it’s for a performance! Lol
