Tarot FY680 Upgrade - FPV with iOSD mini - eRC
Weather is still terrible. However, RC is more than just flying. So lets do another upgrade - FPV with OSD.
In this video I will show you how to assemble a FPV system from start to finish including OSD (On Screen Display). Installing OSD is optional, but highly recommended. You get very useful information overlaid over your video feed such as height, speed, distance from home, pitch and roll angles, home position, number of acquired satellites, active mode etc. That stuff is very useful to the pilot.
Note:
You should use standard servo wire pinout throughout the entire FPV system. This consistency allows you to easily remove OSD, switch cameras etc. Working with non-standard wire order is not recommended and could be very confusing and lead to mistakes (damaged components).
Warning:
Wiring harnesses showed in the video can only be used with cameras that use 12 V power input (3S battery). If you have 5V camera you have to step down the voltage with UBEC or voltage regulator. If possible, I highly recommend using 12 V camera due to the simplicity of installation. Also, extra UBEC can introduce interference in the video signal.
Tips:
1. If you don't have or don't want an OSD, you can simply plug the camera directly into the video transmitter.
2. I highly recommend Voltage Regulator/Filter by David Windestal. This approach saves weight (30 g), space, looks cleaner and doesn't require handling, charging and worrying about two batteries before each flight. My tests showed that there is no difference in video quality between filtered, single battery FPV system and two battery FPV system. Both systems have crystal clear picture even with wildest throttle changes.

3. Cloverleaf antennas are a must. Stock antennas will work, but for the price there is simply no reason not to buy cloverleaf antennas. You will get better range, eliminate multi-pathing, enable great reception even when the multi-rotor is at angle.
For this setup you will need one RP-SMA and one SMA antenna.
