Why Finding Passion and Purpose IS Important: Doing the Important Business

This video is the beginning of a series of videos on passion and purpose. This first one is on why finding passion and purpose is important.

Discovering and aligning with your calling means you identify and build on your talents. What is your passion? What do you love doing? Chances are you’re already good at it.

By working out your life purpose, you open yourself to more opportunities than you could have imagined.

If you feel doubtful about this, think back to times in your life where things just seemed to ‘fall into place’ or you were in the right place at the right time.

Most people don’t realize how absolutely fulfilling and even powerful it is to have a meaningful life filled with purpose. What I am now going to do is give you a list of fifteen things that Purpose gives us:

Focus – Knowing what our purpose is means we know where we’re going.

Meaning – By knowing what drives us, we understand why we’re here.

Passion – By focusing on our purpose, we find where our passion lies.

Clarity – When you know your purpose, you gain a clear view of what you want to accomplish – and how.

Gratification – With purpose, things happen. We start to accomplish more, and in so doing, wind up having more of a positive impact on those around us.

Belonging – When we know our purpose in life, we also know where we belong.

Integrity – We form our values when deciding what’s right or wrong – generally regarding our actions.

Trust – Oddly enough, those who have a solid sense of purpose report that they trust others more and that they feel themselves to be more trusted in their dealings.

Choice – When you have a vital purpose, it means you’re the one making all the choices.

Grace – There is a certain elegance to living your life with purpose.

Ease – When you know where you’re going, it’s so much easier to see what you need in your life or to DO to get where you want to be.

Flow – From grace, we find our flow.

Impact – Purpose means we have a positive direction.

Confidence – Just the very act of having a clear purpose gives you confidence that the world can’t help but notice.

Fun – Lastly, life is a whole lot more fun when you have a purpose.

What’s more fun than that? Just the mundane and ordinary life you’ve had until now. Seizing your purpose means seizing your destiny.

Your task over the next week is to consider the information you have heard in this video and write down three things you are passionate about; what do you love to do or be around?.
