How To Be In The Moment With Meditation: Mindfulness vs Autopilot

In this video, we will be looking at how to be in the moment with meditation. This is about looking at mindfulness vs autopilot.

When your schedule is full and it seems almost impossible to schedule a few minutes in for meditation, let those worrisome thoughts float by.

It's not necessary to tie yourself to your meditation cushion to be in the moment. It may surprise you that some of the best ways to practice mindfulness are already part of our day. You can practice mindfulness while doing what you consider your day-to-day activities like brushing your teeth, having a meal, going for a walk or even cleaning parts of your house!

Clinical research has demonstrated that 55% of the time our thoughts are not directly tied with the activity we are doing. This kind of mind-wandering (automatism) has been shown to contribute to our unpleasant feelings such as sadness. This video briefly introduces you to how you can put into practice mindfulness practice and better stepping out of autopilot by merely being present with the task at hand.
