Learn 'Down by the Sally Gardens' on Tin Whistle – Easy Irish Tune with Tabs

This is a fairly easy Irish tune to learn to play on the tin whistle.

The video starts by playing the whole tune. Then it breaks it down into 3 sections and plays it slower highlighting each note as it played and displaying the note name and whistle tabs.

Note, the horizontal lines next to some of the tabs are an indication for how long to play the note for. I found with normal tabs it is not obvious how long to play the note for so hopefully this is helpful. Obviously listening to the tune will help learn how long each note plays for but I still find this useful when I am learning to play a tune. I normally look at the musical score to get this note length information. Please comment with your thoughts on this alternative form of tabs.

I am still learning to play the whistle and record my efforts so apologies if it is painful to your ears. Hopefully the breakdown of the tune will be helpful for other beginners.
