Classic Aviation! Aeroflot Antonov AN-12 Landing & Take Off Rotterdam Airport 1991

Welcome to: Classic Aviation! In this series I'll show you some footage from the past from my home base Rotterdam Airport, but also from Amsterdam Schiphol and others. I need to make it clear that footage you will see in this series is not taken by me! I've asked permission from the people to who the footage belong to use it for my series. Be aware that the video quality will not be very good, because offcourse this old footage was created with less modern equipment.

In today's video we have a Aeroflot Antonov AN-12B, registration CCCP-11527, on a visit to Rotterdam Airport in 1991. Today an aircraft like this here would be more than a miracle. But in the past they actually were not that unusual at RTM! The footage recorded here is from the landing and the plane taxiing to stand. After the engines are shut down we get a look of the cockpit of this cool aircraft! No sound in the cockpit scenes sadly! I needed to delete the sound because of a lot of talking going on. Later on you can enjoy the start up and taxi out of the AN-12 followed by a great take off with the usual black smoke coming from the engines. This plane was sadly scrapped in 1998 at the airport of St Petersburg.
