Ariens 921031 (2012) Deluxe ST24LE 24" Snow Blower - First Start, Belt Break-in & Blowing Action!

Living in Nebraska it's either feast or famine with the fluffy white stuff and was never a problem for my wife and I to shovel the driveway.

This last spring my wife was diagnosed with acute arthritis and can no longer help, so this December (2012) I decided to order a new two-stage snow blower.

After some serious research I decided to order a Ariens ST24LE, 2 Stage (model #921031) 24" Deluxe Snow Blower from Snow Blower Direct. This is one of the few companies left still making snow blowers in the U.S. but unfortunately the Briggs & Stratton engine is now made in China:( You can certainly buy a cheaper blower from a big box store but for a few dollars more you get a professional quality machine with no plastic parts and a 3 year warranty from a company that's been in the snow blower business for 50 plus years and still offer parts on all their blowers!

It arrived a week later in a big create and took about an hour to assemble... now all I needed was snow!

Fast Forward 5 weeks...........

Well it finally snowed! The above video shows my new Ariens Snow Blower first cold start, belt break-in and trying it out on a few inches of snow.

Overall I really like this beast but it needs some serious snow to make it happy. 3" of snow really isn't enough to test this blower out but did give me a good chance to start the engine break-in...

I will update this information when we get a good amount of snow so I can put the Ariens Deluxe 24" Snow Blower through it's paces!
