One out of every 3 adults in the United States is at risk of life-threatening kidney disease. Most people don’t even know they are at risk.

Here you will learn about chronic kidney disease (CKD) and how to prevent it or slow the progression if you already have CKD. Awareness and knowledge will empower you to take charge of your own care with your healthcare team.

Black Americans are almost four times as likely as White Americans to develop kidney failure.

While Black Americans make up about approximately 13 percent of the population, they account for approximately 35 percent of the people with kidney failure in the United States. National Institutes of Health

The San Francisco Chapter of The Links Inc is part of an international African American professional women's association linked in friendship and service.
