How To Install An Under Counter Water Filter

In this video we teach you how to install an under sink water filter. We choose to install an under sink water filter to make sure our water drinking source did not contain heavy metals or other contamination. The filter is a .5 micron filter that also contains carbon for water treatment and filtration. The advantage of installing an under sink water filter is that it doesn't take up space on your counter and can still provide a high rate of flow.

I connected the water filter to the cold water supply line so that when I want filtered water, I can turn the handle to cold water and then fill my container. Since I typically only use hot water for dishes this provided a good method to filter cold water coming out of the sink.

Water Filter Installation Steps
1. Turn off the water to at the shut off valves below the sink.
2. Turn the handles on the sink to on to remove pressure from the water lines and confirm the water is off.
3. Attach hoses to water filter, provided with water filter.
4. Check location for water filter and bracket check clearances, before installation and that hoses will reach.
5. Install water filter bracket.
6. Remove existing water line from water shut off valve.
7. Connect water filter supply line to the existing water shut off valve. Confirm you have correct direction of flow for the water filter you are installing.
8. Connect water filter "filtered water" line to the existing faucet supply line.
9. Turn water shutoff valve back on and check for leaks.
