In this video we teach you how to replace a ground fault circuit interrupter. Ground fault circuit interrupters are typically used in wet locations and are designed to "trip' to protect people electrical faults when devices are plugged into or wired to a ground fault circuit interrupter.

Typically Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters are required in bathrooms or kitchens or anywhere an outlet will be within 6ft of a water source. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters are also commonly required in basements, garages, and for outdoor outlets where devices could be exposed to water.

If you plan on installing your ground fault circuit interrupter outside it's a good idea to have a suitable cover to protect the outlet from rain and/or snow.
