Two sisters are fighting for their lives, and their brother didn't make it. Rosebud, Petal, and Briar were found huddled together at a local park, shivering and completely alone. Within hours, all three tested positive for Parvovirus. The very next morning in care, sweet little Briar lost his fight. Now Rosebud and Petal are still in the hospital, holding on with everything they have, but this is going to be a brutal battle. Will you help us save them?

Rosebud, Petal, and Briar were first spotted by concerned community members who noticed the puppies were vulnerable and alone in the local park. As soon as we arrived, we started to gather answers, but there wasn’t enough to understand how these puppies got here, or how long they’d been in this condition. However, considering their breed, it is very possible that they were dumped by irresponsible breeders or owners once it was discovered they were infected. Though all three were willing to eat the chicken we brought to coax them, which was at first a hopeful sign, something about their condition still felt deeply off. One of the puppies began vomiting shortly after the chicken, and all three had an unusual waxy coating on their fur. We could not take any chances.

They were rushed immediately to the emergency hospital, where our worst fears were soon confirmed: all three puppies tested positive for the deadly Parvovirus. If you’re unfamiliar, Parvo is a highly contagious viral disease that attacks a dog's digestive system and immune response, making it nearly impossible for their body to absorb nutrients or fight infection. Without aggressive supportive care, the virus is often fatal, especially in young puppies whose immune systems are not yet equipped to handle it. This particular strain has proven especially devastating. Despite everything the medical team did, sweet little Briar, the only boy, tragically passed away. There are no words for that kind of loss. He deserved so much more.

Rosebud and Petal are still in the hospital receiving round-the-clock treatment, supportive care, and every possible chance to survive this horrific virus. The medical team is fighting hard, and so are these girls. But everyone is distraught, for many reasons. Emergency hospitalization for Parvo treatment is incredibly expensive — and the bill for Rosebud and Petal's ongoing care is expected to be substantial. As a nonprofit rescue, we were not prepared for an emergency of this magnitude so soon, and our budget is stretched impossibly thin. We are trying to figure out what to do to continue supporting their recovery. Please, can you help us?
