I falsi amici sono quelle parole che in italiano e in inglese sono molto simili ma che in realtà hanno due significati differenti.
“Attualmente” significa “in questo momento”- actually si dice “veramente”.
“Definitivamente” significa “una volta per tutte” - definitely si dice “decisamente”.
“Eventualmente” significa “se necessario” - eventually si dice “alla fine”.
“Finalmente!” esprime soddisfazione dopo una lunga attesa - finally si dice “alla fine”.
“Pretendere” significa chiedere con forza qualcosa a cui si ha o non si ha diritto - pretend si dice “fare finta”.
“Annoiato/a” significa “che non si diverte” - annoyed si dice “infastidito”.
“Bravo” significa “abile/esperto” - brave si dice “coraggioso/a”.
“Conveniente” significa “vantaggioso” - convenient si dice “comodo”.
“Educato/a” significa “civile/cortese” - educated si dice “istruito/a”.
