Hurricane Epsilon passes Bermuda, Typhoon Saudel strengthening

Hurricane Epsilon has weakened slightly since this morning, and is now a Category 1 storm as it passes Bermuda. However, the storm is showing signs of reorganisation in its core and eye structure, and could intensify again briefly. Epsilon will start to move away from Bermuda tomorrow, and pass by Newfoundland early next week.

In the Western Pacific, Typhoon Saudel continues to intensify in the South China Sea, and is likely to reach Category 2 status in the next 24 hours. The storm could make landfall on Hainan Island or pass just south of it before reaching Vietnam at the end of the weekend.

Two other areas of interest could develop in the Western Pacific - one of these is very likely to form in the wake of Saudel before striking the Philippines as a possible typhoon next week. Another moderate area of interest could impact the Mariana Islands and Guam next week as a tropical storm, before continuing northwest and possibly turning west.

In the Indian Ocean, an area of interest is about to move inland over Bangladesh, and chances are rapidly fading for development.
