Epsilon a hurricane threat, Saudel in South China Sea

The Atlantic's latest tropical cyclone, Epsilon, has put on a very impressive display today and is likely a hurricane at this point. Epsilon should intensify further, and will probably reach Category 2 status as it passes Bermuda, and then hooks out to sea.

In the Western Pacific, Tropical Storm Saudel is leaving the Philippine islands, and could rapidly intensify from here in the warm waters of the South China Sea, with Hainan and Vietnam in the possible impact zone. Tropical Depression 20W also formed near the Ogasawara island chain, Japan, and is likely to persist without much intensification over the next two days.

Two other areas of interest could develop in the Western Pacific - one behind Saudel and the other moving through the southern Mariana islands.

In the Indian Ocean, an area of interest could become a tropical cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, before striking eastern India or Bangladesh.
