Refeeds 101 - Covering the Basics
There tends to be a lot of questions and even more confusion on the topics of refeeds. In this video we discuss what refeeds are, who needs them, and how we implement them into our diet.
Refeeds can help:
offset the down regulation of metabolic avtivity
periodically raise leptin levels
help replenish glycogen stores from low-carb diets
provide you with a mental break from dieting
break through temporary weight loss plateaus
improve gym performance
Refeeds are for:
individualls in a calorically restricted state for an extended period of time
Notes:
The leaner you get the more important the refeeds becomes. It's important that you don't just confuse a refeeds day with a cheat day. Refeeds are controlled periods of overfeeding and should be used as an aid to your cutting diet NOT an excuse to binge. You must be able to adhere to your diet after your refeed is over!
