Trump Pushes Oil CEOs to Spend $100 Billion in Venezuela

Major US oil executives expressed caution to Donald Trump about reentering Venezuela, citing concerns about the country's stability and investment protections.

Trump convened industry representatives and predicted they could come to an agreement to restart operations in Venezuela, offering security
guarantees and predicting companies would quickly make back investments.

Executives, including Exxon Mobil Corp.'s Darren Woods and Continental Resources Inc.'s Harold Hamm, declined to commit resources to Venezuelan operations, citing the need for significant changes to legal and commercial frameworks and durable investment protections.
