Pelagos Owner Reacts: Is The Titanium Yacht-Master 42 Basically A "Rolex Pelagos" But Worse?

Watches & Wonders 2023 has been eventful to say the least with dozens of new releases from the likes of Rolex, Tudor, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Grand Seiko, IWC, Jaeger LeCoultre, Zenith, Tag Heuer, and many more. But for me there is one watch that stood out immediately and that’s the Rolex Yacht Master 42 in Titanium. After the release of the behemoth 50mm Deepsea Challenge in titanium, the Yacht-Master is the first Rolex watch that normal humans can actually wear and it’s a big occasion. I love titanium, my Tudor Pelagos is my favorite watch and I owned and loved my Omega Speedmaster X-33 because of the darker hue and mainly because of the incredible sensation of lightness.

So now that it's been nearly a week after the initial excitement, I think it’s time to take a deeper look at titanium Yacht-Master to see what it really is all about, especially in comparison to the watch that is seemingly very similar, the Tudor Pelagos. In this video I’m going to go over the details of the new Yacht-Master and compare it to my beloved Pelagos to see just how similar and different they really are. Then I’m going to get into the reasons why I want to add the titanium Yacht-Master to my collection despite the Pelagos being my favorite watch. Finally I will decide whether or not the Yacht-Master is worth the $9,000 premium over the Pelagos.
