There is a song called "Fear is a Liar” that reminds me of the lies and falsehoods that anxiety and fear wants us to believe about ourselves. Our brains tend to misinterpret our internal and external worlds causing us to make inaccurate predictions and conclusions. These inaccuracies cause us to overreact, spiraling us into an emotional dive bomb.

The good news is that there are techniques for correcting our faulty, negative thinking. The CBT and DBT techniques covered in this video bring us back to more rational, positive thinking by Checking the Facts and Examining the Evidence. Be sure to write down these 7 questions and use them to test the reality of your thoughts and negotiate them into a more helpful, positive and realistic perspective.
