Vanchit Vikas
‘Vanchit Vikas’ established in 1985 under public trust Act based on the experience gained from ‘Janeev Sangathana’ which was functional since in 1982. The founder of both the organizations was Late Hon. Vilas Chaphekar, a social reformer who thought that the unification of social reforms and constructive programmes is vital for achieving intended impact among communities. Janeev aimed at holistic social reforms for addressing socio- economic and gender disparity, environmental concerns and population control. With his vision and mission, today Vanchit Vikas serves the most underprivileged communities in urban, rural and tribal areas of Maharashtra. Major projects are as follows.

Addressing the current needs of commercial sex workers, a day care center for 3 months to 18-year-old children known as ‘Fulwa’ was established in red light area of Pune city, which now accommodates more than 150 children annually. It provides safe place for children and attends to their growth and development by ensuring age-appropriate medical, nutritional, educational and recreational needs.
