Treat Broadleaf Plantain Growing on Your Property! [Weed Management]

Broadleaf plantains are perennial weeds that can easily spread and grow back if not properly managed. They grow in rosette arrangements and thrive in wet, compacted soil with full or partial sunlight. Broadleaf plantains emerge from late spring to fall, with flowers developing from June to September. To eliminate a plantain infestation, apply a post-emergent herbicide that includes plantain on its label. Use 2,4-D Amine for cool-season lawns. To kill broadleaf plantains growing in non-lawn areas, you may have to use Eraser 41% Glyphosate. Spot-treat any weeds you’ve found using a fan or cone spray pattern to ensure the leaves are fully coated. You can reapply 2,4-D Amine after 21 to 30 days, or Eraser after 4 weeks.
