Replace or repair a Galvanized pipe to PEX because of a leaking and rotten piercing saddle valve

Replace or repair a Galvanized pipe to PEX because of a leaking and rotten piercing saddle valve. I will post in another video why you should not use a self piercing saddle valve to run your water line to the fridge or ice maker.

Just as a reference if you do not know the size of the pipe you have you can measure the Outside Diameter (OD) and the Inside Diameter (ID), mine measured about 0.85" on the outside and all the 1/2" couplings worked great.

- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 1/8in - OD: 0.405 in - ID: 0.269 in
- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 1/4in - OD: 0.540 in - ID: 0.364 in
- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 3/8in - OD: 0.675 in - ID: 0.493 in
- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 1/2in - OD: 0.840 in - ID: 0.622 in
- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 3/4 in - OD: 1.050 in - ID: 0.824 in
- Galvanized SCH 40 Pipe 1 in - OD: 1.315 in - ID: 1.049 in

I am not an plumber and this video is for entertainment only. This is not a How-To or DIY (Do It Yourself) video, this is how I did it. Should not be attempted by untrained personnel, water and fire hazards are a big risks if you do things incorrectly, only you are responsible for your actions, proceed under your own risk.

Thanks for watching and reading
