Kinkaku-ji (the golden temple) and road tripping across the Seto Sea Bridges - Kyoto to Takamatsu, Shikoku - Family Road Trip Across Japan, Episode 9

This is episode 9 of our epic road trip around Japan. In this video we visit the beautiful Golden Pavilion - Kinkaku-ji. Like everywhere we've been in Kyoto we're joined by about a million other tourists.

After showing off our tiny apartment, which was our home in Kyoto for the past 4 days, we head off on our road trip to Takamatsu, Shikoku. First stop, as always, is for coffee at Kurasu in Kyoto. The next stop was for petrol and food at an enormous road side stop, Michi-no-eki, at Takarazuka-Kita. It is listed on Tripadvisor as the 6th most popular site (of 94) in Takarazuka. 😂

After lunch we continued our long drive to Shikoku over the incredibly impressive Seto Sea Bridges. One of the bridges takes 20 minutes to cross. We stop at Yoshima Island for some bridge site seeing.

Then it was only a short drive to Takamatsu. This was our first time on Shikoku so we were pretty excited to be there. Dinner was at a local Izakaya (bar), Ofukuro, and it was superb. Very cheap too.
