Science is ready to double our life expectancy, but we are not
Our next generations will reach life expectancies in excess of a hundred years, bar the effect of any given medical breakthrough that could make those estimates even more spectacular. No matter what, "humanity will have to get used to this type of number", according to IESE Business School professor of Economics Javier Díaz-Giménez. And that implies rethinking our life path and our resources: “If you double life expectancy, basically you’ll need the double of everything”, he says.
