Suspect Accused of Faking His Death Denies His Identity
Nicholas Rossi appeared in a Utah court after being extradited from Scotland following convictions for sexual assault in Ohio and Utah. Prosecutors say the 36-year-old suspect has used as many as 16 aliases. He allegedly tried to fake his death in 2019 by posting his obituary online, claiming “his earthly remains were cremated with his ashes scattered at sea.” The FBI tracked him down in Glasgow where he was hospitalized with COVID-19. Now, he's back in the U.S. to face more rape charges.
