The maple syrup season has wrapped up here as the weather has sprung full force into spring temperatures. The buds are sprouting and the sap is no longer flowing. This means it’s time to remove the sap taps because we need to flush the sap lines and clean them to prevent squirrels from chewing through the lines. We discovered a tool that improves this task. It simplifies removing the taps and reduces the reach required to remove them. Taps are drilled when standing on a few feet of snow and when they are removed the snow has melted making for a larger reach.
