Prince Pavlos pays tribute to King Constantine's II Olympic gold at father's funeral

The funeral of King Constantine of Greece was held at the Athens Metropolitan Cathedral, with members of the international and Greek royalty in attendance. Prince Pavlos, the former Crown Prince of Greece, paid tribute to his father during the service, highlighting King Constantine's Olympic career, which included winning a sailing gold medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics and serving as an honorary member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). King Constantine was also a President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and a supporter of the International Olympic Academy. The late King's widow, Queen Anne-Marie, and members of the Royal houses of Greece, Denmark, Spain, and other European countries, were also present at the funeral. The Greek government declined to accord King Constantine a state funeral, and the President of the Hellenic Republic did not attend the ceremony. The King's body was interred at the Royal Cemetery at the former Royal Palace at Tatoi.
