The Fender Vintera II ’60s Stratocaster celebrates the guitar hysteria and musical explorations forged by players such as Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, George Harrison and others. For its 1960s Strats, Fender evolved, refined and streamlined features to meet the demands of guitarists who were fanatically pushing the envelope of guitar craft. As a result, Stratocaster guitars in the 1960s boasted higher-output single-coils, a C-shaped neck, a rosewood fingerboard option (which actually landed in 1959) and other features to accommodate faster solos, increased sustain and more saturated amplifier tones.

“I’m a fan of the rosewood fingerboard on the Vintera II ’60s Stratocaster,” says guitarist, songwriter and musical director Kelly Rosenthal, who has been a Strat player since she got her first guitar at 15 years old. “Some people believe rosewood has a darker tone than that of maple fingerboards, but for me, it’s all about the feel. I really think I play better on a rosewood fingerboard. I’m enjoying playing this. It’s a cool guitar and it feels really good.”

The Vintera II ’60s Stratocaster features a slim C-shaped neck based on the classic ’60s profile, as well as a 7.25" fingerboard radius, 21 vintage-tall frets, a vintage-style synchronized tremolo and Vintage-Style ’60s single-coil pickups that really bring home the flavor of the Age of Aquarius and Swinging ’60s.
