EV3 Walker multi-module robot from Roboriseit!

The main feature of the project is the way of communication between the modules. Instead of the usual daisy chain design, we used an optical method of transferring information between blocks. Two color sensors in each module allow you to send through commands for each module in the robot. The number of modules in the robot is practically unlimited, since the software is able to adapt to any number of segments. Each segment is assembled from one set of 45544 and one 45560 plus one color sensor and an M-motor.
There is an ultrasonic sensor on the front module for a simple collision avoidance algorithm.
Another feature is smart foot control, which allows the robot to maintain a horizontal body position when moving through obstacles.
This robot is designed to study multiprocessor systems and the optical transmission of information in classes with children 11-16 years old. The construction time of one segment is 35-45 minutes, after which all students in the class combine the segments into one Giant Millipede!))
