Why Your Body Is Not As Important As You Think

Do you know your Body Shape?

I'm asking this because I bet you do and it's probably the most common thing I get asked about:

“I’m pear shaped - how should I dress?”

Or “I’m an apple - what will suit me?”

It may be controversial but I don't think body shape is so important when dressing.

Women are fixated with it but in truth it's not as important as knowing your personal style aesthetic preferences.

However, what I see is so many of you getting hung up on body shape theory and how to create illusion and disguise rather than creating a visual expression of who you are, your traits, values and preferences.

If you’ve read my book you’ll see there’s nothing in it about body shape. My Elevate members have access to training about proportion so they can understand and make use of the theory, but I never recommend following these rules slavishly.

So I'd really love you to think about this. Consider your personal style aesthetic. Put aside any thoughts about your body shape and start by creating an inspiration board and seeing the styles, textures and shapes you like and start from there when choosing how to dress yourself.
