Easy Exercises To Improve Head Posture | Chesterfield Chiropractor

--In this video, we demonstrate some easy exercises to improve head posture. They are what we consider "entry level" exercises that anyone can do. When it comes to head posture, it is all about the chin tuck! This helps to engage what are called the deep neck flexors (DNF). They are often weak and underutilized in those with neck pain.

--The first two exercises are what we start our patients with. They involve tucking the chin while laying on your back. Be sure to limit the chin "jutting" when performing the chin curls. Pretend that you are squeezing a quarter in between your neck and chin.

--The third exercise, seated chin tucks, are convenient in that they can be done anywhere. We recommend that patients perform them after sitting at their computer or driving for extended periods of time. The key here is to keep your face parallel and to not over flex or extend (looking down or up). Add a band to add to the difficulty.

--The fourth exercise uses a wall help position the shoulders and spine. It is basically the first exercise but standing. Try to focus on proper breathing and relaxing the shoulders.
