2003 Honda Pilot FLASHING “D” Light while driving Transmission Troubleshooting Diagnostics Video

I had the dreaded flashing “D” light happen while driving home on the highway the other day. Car still drove home. I had to be cautious about the transmission shifting. I kept a careful eye on my RPMS. I still was able to drive the car before fixing, just more cautiously...

In this video, I show how I stuck a paper clip in port #4 and port #9 (CAREFUL!! CAUTION!! The port for checking and sticking an OBDII computer scanner in, is upside down perspectively, but is labeled and hard to read!!). I then turn my key onto the “ON” position with the key, BUT WITHOUT TURNING MY CAR “ON!”

I then count flashes for the D light, the check engine light, the VTM-4 light, ABS light, and SRS light.

Hard long flashes are the first digit I will count, short quick flashes are the second digit I will count. The combined number I get, will be the troubleshoot code I need to look up!

While doing this video I got all kinds of codes, in which I looked up via another site, and the most important one I needed to know, I found out, THIS WAY!!

I got code #26 from the flashing “D” light! Code #26, is the “3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch” error troubleshoot code!

I picked up Duralast Part # PS591 from Auto Zone, and I also picked up Duralast Part # PS590.

PS591 is the 3rd Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure switch ($34.99 at Auto Zone)

PS590 is the 4th Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch ($59.99 at Auto Zone)

I decided I’m going to replace both, because on my other Honda Pilot, one went after the other and it’s just easier to replace both, to avoid a future problem...
