This is a 1970’s era, color movie discussing problems fire departments have with high rise buildings. It opens with a massive high-rise tower with a ladder next to it and was produced with the assistance of the National Fire Protection Association and Fire Prevention through Films. Producer is Julian Olansky and the New Haven Fire Department in New Haven, Connecticut. Firemen fight a fire with a large hose, 00:51. A stack effect, animated graphic is shown, 1:00. BNO Building is shown, 1:03. A building with smoke billowing out of its windows, 1:21. A water-craft helicopter is shown; 1:25. Ladies calmly evacuate a building using the stairs, 1:34. Man is locked in the building, 1:47. A large industrial air conditioner, 2:11. Automatic fire dampers, 2:15. Venting grate for the building, 2:26. People are trapped in building with black smoke coming out, they are sitting on the open window ledge, 2:34. Stack effect/chimney effect graphic is shown again, 2:43.
