Is INDEPENDENCE DAY Actually a STARGATE Sequel?

Every year, we celebrate the anniversary of Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum saving us from the aliens on July 4th.

But what if we exist in a multiverse with infinite realities, and in another timeline, we are actually celebrating Jack O’Neil (with one L) and Daniel Jackson saving us from… kind of similar aliens?

There’s been a longstanding rumor that Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin originally created Independence Day as a sequel to the Stargate movie. I compiled all of the evidence I could find, and in my opinion, it creates a pretty compelling case.

Anyway, I’m sorry, but that just happens to be how I feel about it. What do you think?
