The Bluebell Railway 'Branch Line Gala' - 15th March 2025

Spring has sprung! The Spring Gala season has arrived and our first port of call was the Bluebell Railway for their ever popular 'Branch Line Gala', which this year took place a little earlier on the weekend of the 14th-16th of March.

What ended up being a tribute to Sussex byways, the event feature the currently home fleet as well as visiting Ivatt 2MT 41313 of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The engine having been based at both Brighton and Three Bridges during it's career, being paired with the lines Bulleid stock, made a fitting tribute to 60 years since the closure of the Horsham to Guildford line.

A typical March day with a cold breeze and cloud around made conditions tricky when timing with the light, but that did not dampen an altogether brilliant day. Well done to all involved in planning & running another great event. Hope you enjoy!
